Devices are "raw devices" as opposed to "cooked devices" meaning formatted.
In Windoze, a path would look like D:\foo\bar
With Windoze 2000
1) If the whole drive is not partitioned:
Use \\.\PhysicalDrive x convention.
2) If drive is partitionned but none formatted
Use \\.\x convention for your contasiner
You're "raided" so handle your tablespaces as 1 container per array as
opposed to one container per physical read/write mechanism.
RAID 5 , 5 disks. Stripe 64K
Tablespace: Extent 16 pages of 4 k
Prefetchsize: 4 devices * 16 pages = 64k
In RAID 5, you loose 1/5th of each device for parity.
You should also look at Windows Globally Unique Identifiers GUID
