Enabling database for DB2IMAGE

Question posted by: Nina via DBMonster.com (Guest) on November 12th, 2005 10:46 AM
Hi,
I am trying to enable a database for use with aiv extender. The problem is
that when i try to execute:

enable database for db2image i get the following error:

db2ext => enable database for db2image
DMB0030E: The current database cannot be enabled for the "db2image"
extender. RC
= -1. SQL0007N The sign "_" after "CALL " is invalid. SQLSTATE=42601

The database is created.. and user has full rigths.
I have also connected to the database before issuing the above command.

I am using image extender version 7 with a db2 personal edition v 8.

I will be very grateful for any help here.

This looks like a question for DB2 support.

Is there any particlar reason why you want to use the (rather old) AIV
extenders? An alternative approach can be found here:

Thanks for the tip :-)

I am doing a master thesis where i need to compare images based on low-
level features; color, texture, shape... So within the options offered by
DB2 i figured aiv was an alternative.

I read your article and found it veery interesting, but is there any way to
incorporate content based retrieval using the outlined add-on?

Interesting. I didn't know that anyone would still be interested in
this. ;-)

If you have the technology available that does the feature extraction and
comparison, it would be no problem at all to integrate it. However, if you
want to use the existing technology in the AIV extender, it will be much
more complicated.
