OK. Thanks for the help. We have downloaded the client software and
were able to get the connection to work on the same AIX box as our
test database. We are now installing the client on an NT Server box
and trying to connect to the DB on the AIX box on the LAN. Assuming
we need no extra pieces for this, we will hopefully have this working
today.
The next and more interesting step is the AS400. This will be the
production DB, and we will need our program to attach to the DB2
instance on this platform. Our application will supposedly need to
run on an NT Server platform. I understand from here that I will need
the DB2 Connect piece for this to work. This piece would reside on
the NT Server correct?
Can I use DB2 Connect in my test environment here between the NT
Server and the AIX box? Or is it strictly for connecting to the AS400
and OS390 environments?
