Suggestions for the DB2 Information Center

Question posted by: Jean-Marc Blaise (Guest) on November 12th, 2005 06:02 AM
Hi,

I was just searching for the string "internal L lock" in the DB2 Information
Center. I got a bunch of stuff found and :

1) It would be nice to have a total count of answers, so that I could
eventually choose to redo a better search.

2) Obviously, the fact to enclose with "" does not guaranty the total string
only is searched. Why does it differ from a search on the IBM support web
site ? I am looking for the total string, not all pages containing
"internal" or "L" or "lock".

Regards,

Jean-Marc

As a work around,
db2 doc using the eclipse interface
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoc...2help/index.jsp
See advanced search.
You can use double quotes there.

One thing though is that if you search for
"x lock"
you'll get hits for things like
x_lock_escals

.... if you get to the page and search for "x lock" you won't find it. (doh!)
Sounds like underscore is a 'whitespace'.
I guess other chars could also be considered as such...
